Shaki in Azerbaijan

   What a nice idea to go a village to celebrate new year. Now I'm going in Shaki with my room mate. It was also first time to use train in Baku to go Shaki. It was enough clean and cheap. It just takes 9 hours and it was 6 manat.

   We arrived there on 12.31.2016. It was a stressful year, a lot of experience each other.Of course I had some plans for in 2017. Anyway we took a taxi to go village where my room mate was born. When we arrived there, his lovely family met us on the door.

   As you see, it was snowing. To be honestly, I didn't do any special thing for new year. We just had dinner, talked and slept before midnight. First day of year I woke up and had a breakfast. I'm still a student and have exams in a week. That's why I kept studying during traveling in Shaki. 

   This is my first stop to trip. It's kind of church which is called ''Albanian Church''. It is very historic and there are tombs in the garden.

   There's a palace near there. It's called Palace of Shaki Khans.The ticket was only 2 manat with guide and he explained everything about palace. If you're in Shaki, it should be your first visit. The palace is made by interesting materials. I won't write about trip so much. You can search them on the internet, I just write what impressed me.  Palace of Shaki Khans is one of them.

   I'm really starving right now. There's near local restaurant where is Palace of Shaki Khans. We're going there to eat traditional food '' Piti ''. It's very strong a meal in the winter.

   It was really delicious even for me. I usually cook myself and don't eat outside but it was enough good. It comes with vegetables,kompot, yoghurt etc. First time you need to crush it as you see in the special glass. 

   After a delicious lunch We're going somewhere where it was a big trade way. This under photo is Karvansaray. It's still using as a hotel. I have no idea about price. That way on street there are gift shops, dessert shops where you can buy them. By the way Shaki pahklava, halva is popular there. 

   My room mate friends join us and then we go to Marka. It's also a popular rest place where you want to enjoy in the snow. We played bowling and I was the last player.

While going to home a traditional delicious diner was waiting us.

That's it for Shaki. I'm actually writing all of this after my trips. That's why I keep it short. Let's go to another place !!!

Qobustan in Baku Azerbaijan

   I just want you to know that, you'll see the oldest rocks,stones with painting in the world, you have maybe never seen it before. It shows us, people before us they were also interested in painting. There's a modern museum where you can take a ticket and take a walk from there, I suggest it. As you see in the photos there's a good view.

   Let me tell you where it is and how you get there. It' 64 km South West from Baku. I took a 193 number bus for Lokhbatan (0,20 qepik a ticket) from where I live. When I arrived in Lokhbatan, I took another bus and it was 195 number (1 manat a ticket). When you get in 195 number bus, you need to say the bus driver I'm going to Qobustan  Museum, please when i arrive there, let me know. It would take about 1 hour from Lokhbatan. When you arrive there you'll need a taxi. I highly recommend you talk to taxi driver go and come back where he took you. It's maximum 15, 20 manat. he might trick you so don't pay FIRST !

   You can go to directly Mud volcanoes from Qobustan Museum. it's 10 km far away from Qobustan Museum. To be perfectly honest, I'm not kind of a guy who is interested in stones, rocks, volcanoes but it was a good experience even for me. I just liked it.

   If you talk to taxi driver for Gobustan Museum and Mud Volcanoes and price might be 35, 40 manat maximum. You'll come back where the bus leaved you and you take 195 number bus for Lokhbatan and when you arrive there I recommend you take 125 number bus for city center. You'll also see good views from this nice city. 

it's a part of mud volcano. Taxi driver said that, it helps your skin health. You search it, I'm not sure that.
